fossils before uncovering the “homo habilis” (Handy Man),
dating back more than 1.6 million years. Continue to the
Serengeti arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game
drive in search of big game.
Day 5 Serengeti (BLD)
The name Serengeti is derived from
the Maasai word “siringet”, which means endless plains.
Game-viewing is exciting year-round, as the Serengeti
supports large prides of lions as well as a healthy amount
of leopards. A full day in the Serengeti allows time for
both morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 6 Serengeti-Ngorongoro (BLD)
After breakfast, your drive takes you
into the Ngorongoro Conservation area where the remainder of
the day is at leisure.
Day 7 Ngorongoro (BLD)
A full day of game viewing in the
Crater is a highlight. Supporting more than 25,000 mammals,
the crater is home to a wide variety of both herbivores and
carnivores. Zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and eland are
abundant. With such a rich food supply, carnivores like
lion, hyenas and leopard are also at home in the crater.
Watch for the kori bustard (the world’s largest flying bird)
to see if you can spot its elaborate territorial display
during breeding season.
Day 8 Ngorongoro-Nairobi (BLD)
Return to Arusha for lunch and then
continue back to Nairobi. The remainder of the evening is at
leisure. Enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.
Day 9 Nairobi-Masai Mara (BLD)
A light aircraft flight takes you to
Kenya’s most famous reserve, arriving in time for lunch.

Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage where you will learn about the
special work the center does in saving, raising and then
releasing orphaned elephants. With luck, you’ll get to see
some of the “babies” running around with their keepers. Then
transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg,
where a short walk takes you to your hotel for the night.
Day 13 Johannesburg-Okavango Delta (BD)
Take the short walk back to the
terminal for your flight to Maun. A light aircraft transfer

variety of game activities this afternoon.
Day 14 Okavango Delta (BLD)
The Okavango originates in Angola and
meanders down to spread over sandy spaces in the Kalahari
forming the most amazing array of channels, lagoons, islands
and floodplains that is the Okavango Delta. Choose from a
variety of game activities today.
Day 15 Okavango Delta-Victoria Falls (BLD)
Bid farewell to this amazing area as
your light aircraft flight takes you to Kasane and then over
Victoria Falls to Livingstone. Your luxury lodge along the
Zambezi awaits.
Day 16 Victoria Falls (BLD)
Your schedule is flexible today. You
might like to relax this morning and then later visit
stunning Victoria Falls. As you approach the Falls, you will
feel the mist rising up as hundreds of thousands of gallons
of water cascade into the river below. Rain slickers are a
